I was going to film a little vlog for you guys, but then I got the flu/laryngitis/pharyngitis.  I’ve lost my voice and I feel like ass.  As a peace offering, here’s a leedle sketch.  I’ve got lots of art to show you, and lots of cool things in general coming your way, so stay tuned. :)

A little late to the party.  Things have been a little rough on my end, but with the help of my ridiculous amazing (and good-looking) support network, I’m stayin’ optimistic.
Sometimes it can be tough to stay positive amidst adversity, and sometimes the path seems unclear.  Slacking off is an easy option.  But the most important thing is that at the end of the day, you believe in what you can achieve, and you keep stepping forward with conviction.
Meet your fears head on and leap into 2013.

First go at watercolours. Not sure what I’m doing. The paper gets so crinkly. Where is the undo button?

Had some time to go to Life Drawing again!  Our model was the lovely Ali. Done using soft pastels.

Hmm, not sure if anyone is interested, but if you’d like to purchase the originals (they’re pretty big, about A2), then give me a buzz.

Just taking a break from commissions to make a little something for you guys.  The year is almost over, and I know that it’s been a tough one for many of you.  But know that no matter how difficult things are and may be in the future, you can do this.  You are stronger than you know.

Get Trucked Illustration // 20 September, 2009

I was looking through my archives and was surprised to find that I never posted this. This was for Just Another Agency’s (then known as “696”) annual group exhibition, Get Trucked.  All profits from the event went to CanTeen.

It was one of my first traditional media projects, and I remember drawing a blank as to what to use.  I didn’t have any paints at home, so I went with the ol’ fineliner.

It was an extremely time-consuming process.  I was using pens with tiny nibs & I couldn’t get overzealous lest they bled through the fabric. I finished it in one looong 10-hour sitting in a café. (I ended up getting a free drinks for my efforts!)

It was so, so much fun doing something quite different, kind of typographical and illustrative.  I should do more of this kind of stuff.

Another illustration for the aforementioned magazine that, alas, never made it to print.  It was interesting trying something new, and I’ve always wanted to get into fashion illustration. The editor was happy for me to make up my own design, as long as I kept the “modern watercolour” aesthetic and it was relevant to current spring trends.

A couple of concept illustrations I did for a fashion magazine, focusing on spring trends and graphic prints.  Quite a departure from my usual style; they were after a “modern watercolour” sort of look.  Pretty fun, as I had free reign over the outfit designs.

It’s been too long since I last drew Raven.  Time to rectify that.

She’s my idol and it’s because of her that I got into digital painting. Her paintings are spectacular, and I love her usage of colors. The different number of emotions that she can portray through her art is amazing, and her works, whether a full-blown painting or just a simple sketch, are always beautiful. She’s been such an inspiration to me.

This made my day. Thank you so much. :’)

Oh, Maker | 25 Feb 2012
Brave the battle inside your head & have the courage to confront yourself.
A piece a created earlier in the year for Stage Fright.  It was auctioned off, with all proceeds forwarded to Able Australia.  I spent about 4 hours on this, I think.  Most of which were spent fudging around indecisively.
