She’s my idol and it’s because of her that I got into digital painting. Her paintings are spectacular, and I love her usage of colors. The different number of emotions that she can portray through her art is amazing, and her works, whether a full-blown painting or just a simple sketch, are always beautiful. She’s been such an inspiration to me.

This made my day. Thank you so much. :’)

Sorry for the lack of updates! My internet was destroyed for a while.  But it is back!  And here I am with some stuffs.

Here are some happy snaps from the Life Drawing Show last month.  It was such a pleasure to be amongst such a diverse and talented bunch of artists.

Much to my surprise, a handful of people were interested in purchasing my piece.  My naked lady has a new home now. :)  I think I’ll create more traditional artwork in the future.

If you’re around the city tomorrow evening, you should come to the opening of the Life Drawing Show to have a drink and celebrate the naked body!  I’ll be exhibiting with 39 other artists. :)
On that note, I’d encourage any Melbournians to duck into one of the weekly Life Drawing Classes, 6.30pm on Tuesdays & Wednesdays @ No Vacancy Gallery.  I try to go to at least one class every week.  It’s untutored, relaxed, and has awesome music.

So this morning, I found out that I’ve been given another tiny feature in ImagineFX.  This time it’s issue #59 (I think).  I had no idea about this and it excites me greatly.  Thanks so much to Helen for letting me know & scanning it in.
Click the picture to read the whole article. :)
By the way, I WILL be posting art soon, I swear!  As soon as I have some time!  (Too busy wallowing in post-exam celebrations/shopping/eating/socialising.)

HELLOOO!  I return!  How’ve you all been?
Some cool news: I’m currently a featured illustrator on FMyLife.  Also check out the FML Blog Feature/Interview Thingie because Lady Alice is the sweetest pie in the pot and without her, none of these FML illos would be possible.
I was SO excited when they contacted me because this site has been such a source of amusement for the longest time.  Aah, schadenfreude.

The Tumblr Judge Hath Spoken

tumblrjudge says:

http://ravenskar.tumblr.com/

wow this girl is a really great artist. she uploads her work, videos of her work, and other the work of other fellow artists. cool blog

Haha, too cool.  Cheers, mate. :)

If you’d like to give your blog a chance to be given a blunt, reasonably objective and possibly harsh review, then hop over to The Tumblr Judge.  Poor dude/dudette has suddenly been snowed under by requests.  Somehow I was lucky to get through.

So, I received my copy of EXOTIQUE 5 about a week ago. As you may or may not know, I was lucky enough to get two of my pieces in.  It was the first time I’ve submitted to this book so I’m fucking pleased with the results, to say the least! :D

Featured: CGunit + PirateArt

Recently found out that I was featured on CGunit.net. :D I haven’t checked there in a while, so I was pretty damn surprised.  Thank you so much to whoever decided to do that! Check out the feature here.

I was also asked to give an interview on Pirate-Art, so click here if you’d like to know more about me/my artwork.  Thanks for the interview, guys. :)

EDIT; I think Pirate-Art is down, so the entire interview is below.

This is kinda old news, but due to the increasing level of interest, I thought I’d make a quick post here.

Earlier this year, I was accepted into CURVY 6!  This was my very, very first time in print and I was absolutely elated.  This annual all-girl artbook features 120 artists from 39 countries, celebrating creativity from all areas of graphic art & illustration. Here are a few crappy photos I took of my complementary copy. :)

Read here for more info about CURVY.  And click here if you’d like to purchase it.

To Australians who are interested in buying/perusing this book, you’ll be able to find it in Magnation.

“Intrinsic Nature 6 (IN6) represents the hard work and passionate effort of 27 international artists to bring you a remarkable showcase of sight and sound. Each of the 49 pieces of art contained in this exhibition are experimental at heart—that’s how we like to do things!”
I hope you enjoy this as much as I loved being a part of it. :) Check it out - it’s an amazing collection of work.

Exciting Things.

A bit of exciting news to share.  Well, exciting for me.  Possibly completely mundane for you (especially the last point), but… whatever. :P

  • I GOT INTO EXOTIQUE 5 (!!!!!!!).  This will be my second time in print.  I’m weeping.
  • I was featured on MariMoon’s blog!  I was receiving a ton of tweets/emails and was pretty damn confused (especially since many of them were in Portuguese) until someone directed me to her blog.  She’s the VJ for MTV Brazil!  How friggen cool!  Thank you, MariMoon. :D

  • Today I went on a mini shopping spree to celebrate my earnings from Manifest. :D  I’ve just been so sick and feeling so shit, so I wanted to treat myself.

In other news: I’ve been getting heaps of wonderful feedback about my Tifa fanart piece.  Thank you for all the support, guys.  I really appreciate it!

Featured!

Natalie notified me the other day that I’ve been featured on Start Drawing!!  (You can see the article here.)  Thank you so much for the feature, Bel!  Start Drawing has been one of my favourite websites for a very long time, so seeing my name there was kind of incredible.

I pop in now and then for an inspiration fix — I love that they focus on Asian artists!  Represent, man.  You should check it out if you haven’t already — there are AMAZING artists there.

In other news, a few people have notified me that a few of my pieces are floating around on FFFFOUND!  Wow! :D  Haha, yay.  I feel all fuzzy now.
