I was really saddened by the passing of Alexander McQueen, as he was my all-time favourite designer and his work greatly influenced my interest in fashion design.  His fearless creativity was inspirational. So I wanted to do a tribute piece, based on the amazing dress from his Fall 2009 Collection. This was fairly rough, with most of the effort going into the dress (as I wanted it to be the main focus).  The bird pattern was an enormous pain in the arse, but it looks alright in the end.  If you look closely, you can see that the details were done very loosely.  I’m trying to learn how to maximise detail while minimising effort, haha.
