This is what I painted on Wednesday night/Thursday morning when I couldn’t sleep, as a birthday gift for a friend of mine.  (Happy 21st, Christine! ♥)  I wasn’t able to spend much time on it, but I like the way it turned out; looser, with more expressive brush strokes.

It partly symbolises our friendship, and partly symbolises how I see her as a person.  There are a lot of in-jokes in the piece (which is probably why it makes no sense), but to sum it up:

1. We share a quirky friendship.
2. She is one of the most genuine, sweet & truly content people I know.  Her life & laughter are full of colour.  She is an amazing amount of fun. :)
3. And no, that’s not her in the picture.  Part of the in-joke as well, haha.

I framed it, then gave it to her in a large envelope filled with a letter & chocolate.
