Art Market.
Sorry for my relative absence lately. The past two weeks have been kinda unbearable for me. A lot of pretty serious personal things have been going on, and I’d been getting less and less sleep each night. I was also spending a lot of my time preparing for the Art Market, and had to dedicate whole days to setting up the stall, getting prints done, hunting for frames, etc. I was getting to...

Body Clock.
I think I’ve really fucked up my body clock. I go to bed between 4-6am every morning, now. Sometimes I’ll have to wake up early the next day, and I’m royally fucked, and feel like a walking carcass. Other days, I end up sleeping in until about 4pm. When I wake up, I don’t feel particularly refreshed and am bitter that I’ve wasted a whole day. I try to lie in bed...

Artist Feature: Cathy Delanssay
Cathy Delanssay’s artwork is simplistic in presentation — the sweeping shapes and form, the curves and gentle lines, taking up the whole frame. I love it because there’s a childhood innocence in her artwork, a certain fairytale charm. The colours and textures really enhance the storybook feel.

Moment.
Wrapped in warmth until the weight of the night was alleviated. It helped me sleep again. After all that noise, I forgot the world.

Home Design.
(photos by David Allee.)
The home of Diana Kellogg & Neil Burger. Once a cold-storage warehouse, the couple completely transformed it into cosy, inviting home for their two children. And I think it turned out amazingly. Look at the warmth just oozing from the floorboards and all the woody hues.
Read more about it here. And then hope to hell that your house is gonna look that good one...

“It’s intriguing how some things change, but so...
Today I found out that an old friend passed away last night, due to complications with leukemia. She was diagnosed with that in Year 12, and even though she survived it, she relapsed last year. She fought it for so damn long. She was so incredibly strong. Despite staying in hospital for most of Year 12, she still got one of the highest scores and managed to get into her university and course of...

Law + Ukranian Art Thieves
Sorry for the lack of posting/art lately. I’ve either been lazing around & catching up on sleep, or spending much needed time with loved ones. Today, I made the valiant attempt to go to the library and start on my International Law essay, but I spent about an hour staring at one paragraph (and mucking around on the net). The essay is an optional assessment. Failing to do that means...

Artist Feature: Jason Thielke
Jason Thielke’s art focuses on “urban landscapes and their inhabitants”. Thielke’s work fuses emotive rhythms with deconstructed lines and shape. It’s just pure poetry. I’ve never seen anything like it, and I’m really quite enchanted. There’s almost a science to it.

Elderly.
I’ve had a really productive night. I’ve forgotten how good it feels to know that you’ve been so industrious. Completely reworked the website design and made a new mock up. Sent off a few muchly delayed email responses (one was of essay length). Discussed ideas at length with client. Also gossiped with said client. :P Y’know what, though. I seriously need to...

Want want want.
I want to draw! Why can’t I manage my time properly? Hours seem to evaporate after a few exchanges on MSN, and a phonecall. What on earth..? I’ve got commissions to work on. A layout to design. A logo & mascot to consider. And oh. My own stuff? Y’know, I have a list exceeding seventy items of all the things/scenes/characters I’ve wanted to draw since Year 7. ...
